Special Bond with China
In 1984, Douglas Jewett visited Taishan, hometown of overseas Chinese in China, with his wife Susan and again in 1988, bringing along his children the second time, including then 7-year-old son, Jonathan. They lived in a small village for several months. Douglas and his family fell in love with China, its culture and people and developed a special bond with Taishan. More than 10 years later, in 1999, Douglas Jewett established American Global Health Group, LLC, “AGHG”, in Seattle, USA with several leading Aloe experts and scientists. His goal was to realize his dream of bringing the miracle of Aloe Vera to the world and to be able to do so while growing it organically in China, a place he loved.
Special Bond with Aloe Vera
Douglas Jewett developed a close affinity with Aloe Vera after experiencing the incredible healing properties of Aloe Vera early in his life. One of Doug’s childhood neighbors suffered extensive burns on his body in an accident, which the doctors believed would lead to significant scarring. His neighbor, however, was a strong believer in the natural healing power of Aloe Vera and applied the inner gel from fresh Aloe Vera leaves to the burns and drank Aloe Vera juice while recovering. To the surprise of his doctors, Aloe Vera helped his neighbor quickly recover with substantially reduced scarring. Douglas Jewett was amazed by the miracle of Aloe Vera and always dreamed of sharing it with people around the world.
Dedication to Environmental Protection
Douglas N Jewett, the founder of AGHG, attended Dartmouth University for undergraduate studies and Yale for Law School and was in politics in the United States for more than 20 years. As the City Attorney of Seattle, Douglas was the youngest elected sitting city attorney of a major city in U.S. history. After leaving politics, Doug devoted himself to the cause of clean energy and environmental health. He served as President of Ramgen, a high-tech company invested by the U.S. government, which was committed to reducing green-house gas emissions, until he retired.
He is an entrepreneur who is passionate about protecting the Earth from pollution and promoting people’s health and wellness and still remains actively involved as an outside consultant and investor in a number of companies in the space outside of AGHG.
